The annual 2007 club exhibition is approaching us again. The exhibit will be on display in the mallow library for three weeks from September 8th to the 28th.
The club had some very good results during the 2006/7 seasons in which the club competed in both national and international competition. During the early stages of the season Mallow Camera Club competed it the inaugural world photographic club competition, which was held in Paris. There were 116 entries from many different countries around the world. The club eventually finished in 32nd place. The club has again entered its panel of 20 images for 2007 which results will be made public by late September. The club also won a bronze medal in the overall section at the National Photographic Finals.
Some of its members won awards during the year including John Hooton’s Gold medal Brid Coakley’s bronze and Morgan o Neill’s Silver at the SACC nature Finals, John Doheny was also a medal winner when he received a silver medal at the National Photographic finals.
Many of the winning images through out the year will be on display in the Mallow Library.
The competition secretatary wishes every club member to submit up to three images for selection where at least one will be chosen for the exhibit. The size of the images must be one of the following 8x10in; 11x15in or 12x16in and Images can be of any subject.
Images can be submitted to any committee member or any of the following Brid Coakley, David Lavery, John Doheny or John Hooton by August 14th.
