MALLOW CAMERA CLUB MEMBERS ON TOP OF THE WORLD

5 members from Mallow Camera Club, Brid Coakley, John Hooton, Mary Magner, Rodney O’Callaghan and Pat O’Donoghue were this week celebrating when their images were selected for Irelands winning entry into the FIAP Biennial Colour World Cup. FIAP, the International Federation of Photographic Art held the competition in Turkey with Ireland winning the overall Competition, Germany in second place and Spain in third.

Ireland was represented by photographers from across the country, whose images were selected to compete against the best in the world. The Irish entry was made up of 10 images from members of camera clubs in Dundalk, Mallow, and Dublin. Ireland has punched above its weight in international competitions hosted by FIAP to date. This is Ireland’s second major win this year, having already taken the top prize in the FIAP black and white biennial earlier this year.

Mallow Camera Club is going from strength to strength, this latest win comes hot on the heels of their success at the National Finals in Athlone.

The Club is now taking a break for the summer and will be resuming again in September.
