You can gain access to it from the Supervalu car park at the rear of the main street near the Cinema.
There is plenty of free Parking available and Tea & Coffee will be served to all on the day.They look forward to seeing the Mallow Camera Club there and if anybody needs further info on it please do not hesitate to contact us on it.

for the best entry of four images.  Also his black and white image ‘Minard Stone’
won the judges medal.  This is a major win for John in one of the most prestigious
salons in the U.K.

The Mallow Camera Club Rose bowl winning colour and b+w panal authors have an opportunity to put their panal prints forward to the I.P.F. for possible selection for the Irish team.

For those interested please get your mounted (cream or white) print or prints of your images that you had on the Rose bowl panals to me before this coming  Monday  5th sept. 8.30 pm deadline.

They are amongst  twenty of the top  images that make up the  team.

Ireland has gained a very high standard in International competitions in the last few years,hopefully they will do well in the 2011 Bienniels.

At the Southampton International Exhibition 2011 John’s image “Inch Beach” received an
honourable mention certificate.
At the Third Great British Small Print Circuit 2011, in the monochrome section John’s image
“Minard Stone” received a certificate of merit and at the Bristol International Salon of
Photography his colour image “White Rock” was highly commended in the colour print section.

Brid Coakley and John Hooton of Mallow Camera Club are currently exhibiting a selection of their photographic work in The Dublin Photographic Centre, Camden Street, Dublin.  The event is been hosted by Dublin Camera Club and was opened recently following a lecture by both Brid and John to members of Dublin Clubs.
The exhibition runs until the 16th of July.  There are 32 framed images on display of the most recent work by these two photographers.

Attached is a photo of Susanna Dahlstadt, President of Dublin Photographic Club been presented with an image by Brid Coakley and John Hooton

Mallow Camera Club held their annual Photographer of the Year competition recently. The club who are celebrating their silver jubilee were delighted with two new trophies presented to them.  Local professional photographer Gerard O’Meara  presented the club with a shield which was given for the Best Overall Colour Image of the Year.  Gerard who is well known in photography circles said he was delighted to present John Hooton, long standing member of the Club,  with the trophy for his image Minard Stone.

The second trophy for the overall Photographer of the Year was sponsored by Tayto-Hunky Dory. John Hooton also won this amongst tough competition.  In second place was Morgan O’Neill followed by Rodney O’Callaghan in third.

Scoring a hat trick in the event, John Hooton also won the Black and White Photographer of the year.

In the Novice section Bill Power won the Novice Photographer of the Year.

The competition which is the final event for this season ends what has been a tremendous year for the club.  The highlight of this winning the All Ireland Clubs competition and the coveted “Rose Bowl”.  The club now takes a break for the summer months and will reform again in September.  For more information you can check out their web site www.mallowcameraclub.ie
