Mallow Camera Club, recently hosted an evening with award winning photographers Julien Behal and Mallow’s Sean Murphy to present their own photographs from a recent trip to India, as part of an awareness campaign by GOAL. A large attendance of over 180 people attended the Hibernian Hotel in Mallow to see a presentation of photographs for over 3 hours.  It was a memorable evening made all the more worthwhile by the raising of valuable funds for GOAL, predominantly by the voluntary efforts of Julien and Sean.  The evening raised €3,495 which was greatfully recieved by Alison Crowzer from GOAL on the evening.  Pictured at the event were Tim Geary, Sean Murphy, Pat Sheehan, Alison Crowzer (GOAL) and Julien Behal.  Also pictured is Tim Geary Tresurer of Mallow Camera Club presenting a cheque to Alison Crowzer on the evening for €3495.

American landscape photographer David J Eisenlord (Ike to his friends) gave a presentation of his superb images to the club on Monday night last, 09 February.  Ike is in Ireland for a month as Artist in Residence in the Sirius Arts Centre, Cobh, for February.  Ike spoke passionately about his photography, and brought along a selection of his Platinum Palladium prints for the audience to view.

Ike was joined on the night by his father and Peggy Sue Amison, Artistic Director of the Sirius Arts Centre, who is herself an accomplished photographer.  Peggy Sue gave a brief overview of the Sirius Arts Centre, and the Artist in Residence programme.  A number of visitors from adjoining clubs also braved the cold to join us on the night.

At the end of his presentation Ike invited the audience up to take a close look at his prints.  He also presented one of the prints to the club for our collection.  Club Chairman Paddy Fennessy thanked David for this wonderful gesture.
