Mallow Camera Club are pleased to announce an evening with Brian Hopper on Monday 14 May @ 8.30pm . Brian is a highly acclaimed photograpgher having accredited an FIPF, ARPS and AFIAP .Brian is based in Dudalk and a member of the Dundalk Photographic Society who are one of the top clubs in ireland .Brian has served as National Distinctions Secretary, Print & Projected Image Co-Ordinator and currently serves on council with The Irish Photographic Federation
Brian was also a member Dundalk Photographic Society’s team which was awarded the 5th FIAP Club World Cup.
Also bring along your entries for photographer of the year as entries will not be accepted after Monday 14 May

The Photographer of the Year competition will take place on Monday 21 may . All club members are encouraged to enter the competition . You can enter up to a maximum of 15 images in any format . The closing date for entries is Monday 14 May. Entries will not be accepted after this date , no exceptions. Mallow Camera Club are holding a sale of work in aid of Mallow Search and Rescue. Members of the camera club have kindly donated their photographs for the appeal.
The event will take place from the 8 to 12 may at 139 Bank Place Mallow . This premises has kindly been sponsored by Liam Mullins Auctioneer Mallow
There will be a free draw over the duration of the sale of work for a framed print and all support would be greatly appreciated

At the 8th Holland International  Image Circuit 2012, John Hooton was awarded a FIAP ribbon for his black and white image sea stack . Also at the 2012 Bristol Salon of Photography,John  was awarded an honourable mention for his colour image Hanging out.

There was great success for Bill Power recently in the National Nature Finals held in Westport

Bill received two honourable mentions for his images “Peck off”  in the projected and in the printed section “Gannetts in love”

Club chairman  Barry Lennihan congratulated Bill on his achievement  commenting  that it was great represntation at National  Level for both Bill and Mallow in the Nature finals , well done Bill.

Next Monday,2nd April,Limerick Camera club members will present images. Their work has been highly praised by our club members so it is a night not to be missed.

Also on that night we will be selecting teams and topics for upcoming theme night.
To facilitate members pre selecting images for national competition in May,bring along images on disc next Monday night.
 

Also a  final appeal for images for fundraiser for Mallow search and Rescue.Please bring along next week.

At the annual SACC exhibition/competition held in Carrig on Suir recently Mallow Camera Club once again won the
best overall club in the exhibition. The club also won the best colour panel, the best monochrome panel and came
in third place with their projected images panel. Also on an individual basis Brid Coakley won the best colour
print and Morgan O’Neill won the best monochrome print. All in all another great day for Mallow Club.

The panels now go on to the National Photographic Finals to be held in Athlone in May.

There was great success last weekend at the IPF Print and Projected Finals held in Athlone

Of the  36 prizes up for grabs Mallow came away with a total of 8 prizes . The big win of the day for mallow was Paki O Donoghue who took a Silver medal in the projected image. Pakis image tied for first and  following  the judges decision he was awarded  the Silver medal coming second to no other than the great Des Clinton , that in itself a great  achievement. 

There was also success on the day for  John Hooton , Brid Coakley, Morgan O Neill, Bill Power and  Terry Conroy . Congratulations and well done to all.

John  Hooton has yet again proved his talent by his latest win on the international salon circuit .

John won two medals in the German Mega Circuit Salon for his two fantastic black and white kerry seascapes.
